Wheel balancing

Get onboard for a smooth ride

Wheel balancing is not the same as a wheel alignment. A balance corrects the weight imbalance on your tyre and wheel assemblies. Uneven tyre wear and vibration in your steering wheel, floorboard, or seat can lead to unbalanced wheels which can affect your ride.

Proper balancing helps ensure a smoother ride, less tyre wear and reduced strain on the vehicle’s drivetrain. Most manufacturers recommend all four tyres should be rotated and balanced approximately 10,000 thousand klms.

Computer wheel balancer

Using computer wheel balancing technology, our technicians spin the wheel and determine the location and amounts of vibration. The computer splits the tyre into two halves and measures both lateral and radial forces on each side of the tyre’s centre. Weights are added to each side of the wheel to correct the imbalance.

FAQ

What does an unbalanced wheel feel like?

Unbalanced wheels will wobble or hop up and down, which causes vibration. If a front wheel isn't properly balanced, you'll feel vibration in the steering wheel. If the problem is in the rear wheels, the rumble will be noticed in the back seat or floor.
